Off Beyond the Mountain

Ramparts of women

Laughter of men

Sky as canopy

Calls up curtains of snow

Thousand white angels separating the road

Collapse into God

Water fills prepared beds

He sees ancient ones

She weeps with love under rage and boredom

Unbridled birds hop

From green zinc coffins

Cabbage blue skies

Drooling trees

Sad eyed water goes under

Skin appears on slabs

The spine unfolds a tree with tender shoots

The shadow of the hill says:

"Life is infinity."

Oh my loves

Why this sky of storms and stars?

Off beyond the mountain 

The breeze of superstition

Off beyond the mountain

Round eyes knock on my door

Off beyond the mountain

My heart out of joint a desert

Off beyond the mountain

My holy bed is abandoned

Rhymes of affection delight the future

Missing Self *** Yikes, my family has become concerned by my inability to find any solid fixed self, what to do? Best to keep quiet about my suspicion of their lack of inherent self. And who or what has been doing this searching and looking anyhow, like a gerbil spinning on a wheel? Those Buddhists,  I tell you, they appear so peaceful  (sometimes ) but are secretly a radical group of self deniers, how wonderfully subversive.  Maybe I have been a Buddhist all along and just realized it.
