Early morning
mushroom brew,
transported into spirit
Born anew
battle with ind
encounter with death
fight with fear
transforming breath

Gone with shamans
a place beyond
ancient villages
visions and songs
Old wise faces
mother and child
living from nature
free and wild

Written by David Penn Trinley Arndt at the Mayan Ruins of Tikal in Guatemala in 1994. Inspired by an experience with Terrence Mckenna, who he saw in prior weeks at the Mayan Ruins of Palenque in Mexico. Slightly revised on May 25, 2022.

Missing Self *** Yikes, my family has become concerned by my inability to find any solid fixed self, what to do? Best to keep quiet about my suspicion of their lack of inherent self. And who or what has been doing this searching and looking anyhow, like a gerbil spinning on a wheel?
