Sitting by the Thames u


Under overcast skies


Life has changed


In ways I don't understand why


Old life sheds its skin 


In the wind new songs sing


Songs letting go of yesterday's sorrow


Songs not fearing what will be tomorrow


Songs arising from earth a flower


Songs healing restoring life's power 


Heart opens more with each passing hour 


Suffering of before 


Clouds 


Slowly float by


Dissipating 


In overcast


London


Skies 


Hearts purpose


No longer ignored 


Nor denied 


By the Thames river


Mourning 


The one I loved before


Only you found a way to unlock 


My lonely heart's door 


I say farewell love


Watching a rusted barge pass by


So many years


Seems like yesterday


I throw your ashes


Watch them blow in the breeze


Become one with the river


Which flows to the sea 


I Let you go 


Stepping 


Into life


Anew


Leaving


You


Behind


Sitting 


By the 


Thames 


Under 


Overcast 


Skies

Missing Self *** Yikes, my family has become concerned by my inability to find any solid fixed self, what to do? Best to keep quiet about my suspicion of their lack of inherent self. And who or what has been doing this searching and looking anyhow, like a gerbil spinning on a wheel? Those Buddhists,  I tell you, they appear so peaceful  (sometimes ) but are secretly a radical group of self deniers, how wonderfully subversive.  Maybe I have been a Buddhist all along and just realized it. But then I look for the Buddhist and Bam!  Same problem, there's nothing there. I must confess enjoying my nonexistent self today, uh oh, that could mean trouble. Now that I have realized my life is just a dream am wondering what comes next, or if there is a "next." Maybe I will keep looking a little more to be sure no self is to be found.
