Heart Advice Of A Silly Old Goat
Heart Advice of a Silly Old Goat
***
Soon I will be 54
Getting old now I snore
This body fading
Doctor appointments
Fill my calendar
I look at nature
See it passing
We are alike
Nature and I
One
No big deal
Getting old
sickness
Death
Afterlife?
Changing skin
Forms
On and on
Cyclic existence
Spins
Then I awoke
All a dream
Unfixed Illusion
We can all see the way
Free of confusion
There are freedom paths
Deathless
But alone
We must walk
This path ourselves
Born alone
Die alone
Everyone
Ultimately connected
Yet also alone
Where do we go?
Look at seeds
We sow in this life
Truth is our actions
Determine our future
Truth is real
Truth kicks your ass
Not fake news
Alternative facts
Truth manifests in myriad forms
Yes truth is real
Where is it found?
Within our heart we must look
Truths manifests in myriad ways
Whatever way necessary to benefit beings
But I am a silly fool.
A babbling word brook
Don't trust this old goat
Test it for yourself
Don’t wait because life is short
What will you lose?
Still your mind
Reflect upon your nature directly
Test your own experience
You alone answer these questions
Our direct experience
What else can we trust?
Words of others?
"Don't trust leaders,
watch your parking meters"
"Trust yourself"
Only we can know these things for ourselves.
So says the silly old goat who eats too much grass and is getting fat. Time to stop wasting life.

Written by an old goat named Bubba while eating grass in a Vermont field. Looking in the sky was a goat Bodhisattva who gave this heart advice. For whatever it matters, this goat thinks this was written August 15, 2020.
Strange thing here, the goat quit spending his life eating grass, assumed goat lotus posture, meditated 10 years, then disappeared in a rainbow. No joke. A chicken on the farm was a witness, I trust this chicken. All that was left of the goat was hoofs and hair. Whaa strange life this is. I will never see goats the same again.
