Soaring Home To Heaven

Soaring Home To Heaven

***

Moon turned blood red
Undertaker gathered dead
Stacked cordwood piles
Lifeless bodies
Stretched miles
Pale horse rider
Did descend

Shooting stars in the sky
Loved ones said goodbyes
Abomination of desolation
Touched each worldly nation
Lost souls in chains
Did ascend

Princes generals did decree
Rider approached with a key
Priests made sacred offerings
Rich hid in their fortresses
impossible to comprehend

Clouds parted black sunshine
Plague spared no bloodline
People crying prayed
Ransom offering repaid
They feared dying alone
Without a friend

Wise ones
Spoke prophecy
Words which carried authority
False teachers
Spoke lies
Blasphemy blackened skies
Of the fall coming there will be
Nowhere to hide

Door to freedom
Narrow
From above fell a sparrow
Life for most soon did cease
Wars raged without peace
In the end
Nothing left to defend

Few in these times were moral
Continued to fight and quarrel
False gods
Hell from on high
Broken ones screamed out why
Reaping their dark seeds
Falling from the skies

Ones who followed sacred laws
Were saved despite their flaws
They had lived life based on love
In a rainbow the few saw a dove
The dove sang the
Holy song of love
For those who heard
Free off suffering
Soared home to rest
In heaven above
