Ode To Bob Dylan
Ode To Bob Dylan

A Song for Woody
A Song for Dylan
I’m not worthy
To write you a song
Yet like you
I’ve tried to walk my Path True
I’ve made many mistakes
Often been wrong too
Yet on my journey
Though Life
Your words
Touched my heart
Kindled my spirit
Anew
Revived me
When I felt
Dead
Lost
And
Blue
All along
I asked myself
How you could break
Every barrier
How you could be so
Strong
You have faced life
Like a strait drink
At eighty your
Going strong
In life you
Made it to the
End zone
You took a chance
Unafraid You
Threw the ball
Long
Your fearless
Where you tread
No terrain
Has been left
Unturned
It is possible
You’ve said
All there is
To be said
With Words
You weren’t afraid to be burned
You weren’t afraid of critics
The world could not
Break you
No matter
Which way
You
Turned
You weren’t afraid to break free
For me, you will always be
The most perfect mystery
Your poetry embodies
All aspects of humanity
And above all
You blow up conformity
Your songs
Blaze in the sky
I see sparks
Coming from your blue eyes
When you play live
Your spirit is
Self-evident
It does not
Hide
Anything can happen
With you in the moment
“Your songs can walk”
“They have legs”
You play your songs
Never the same
You can hit it
Out of the park
You can drop
The ball
You’re a human being
Not God
You
Know
Your
Imperfect
You know the truth
About the
Fall
I know one thing where you’re heading
I’m finding myself
Moving in that direction too
Like you
I’ve done my share of
“Hard Traveling Too”
Soon will come the
Narrow Gate
When that train comes
You get on board fast
You don’t wait
I’ll keep that appointment too Bob
I won’t be late
Of this like you
I pray I make no
Mistake
Gotta keep on moving “on to another joint”
I see that “Slow Train Coming Around the Bend”
Gonna hop this train following the line all the way Down to the end
Now I got my ride
Think I’m gonna see you
Somewhere
On the other
Side
