Only Spiritual Love Lasts

You told me our love would last

I knew it wasn't true

Yet, I had to take the chance

I had to see love through


A questioned in my youth

If worldly love lasts 

As life went on, it became clear

All things in this world crash


Yes I told you, I love you

But you never could understand

In life I've walked my path alone 

Though dark distant foreign lands


Now, I'm older

I've finally learned to see 

It's spirit, not this world

That's our true reality

Missing Self *** Yikes, my family has become concerned by my inability to find any solid fixed self, what to do? Best to keep quiet about my suspicion of their lack of inherent self. And who or what has been doing this searching and looking anyhow, like a gerbil spinning on a wheel? Those Buddhists,  I tell you, they appear so peaceful  (sometimes ) but are secretly a radical group of self deniers, how wonderfully subversive.  Maybe I have been a Buddhist all along and just realized it.
