Soaring To Heaven

Soaring to Heaven

***

Took too long waking up to see
In life only love has lasting value
Loving under full moon willow trees
I once held her down by the bayou

Took too long to see the truth in her eyes
Our future would lead to different paths
Too painful to face humbled I cried
Love not nurtured turns cold
Grows old folds and dies

Took too long to remember my dear
Her breath sweet kisses beautiful flower
My love fragile hers fiery and tender
Youth's folly broke us apart forever

Took too long to realize
By writing
Slowly faces lifetimes
I would remember
Living illusory dreaming
On times empty lifeboat
Of burning embers

Took too long to understand
Life can end in glory
Love remains never ceases
Even if our life ends early

I should have known years ago
I was too slow to understand
Don't waste a moment of life
We may soon depart and go
Remember the Path of Love
What was forgotten
Long ago

Healing nectar rivers wind
Massaging my mind
Flowing into life's sea
Waves gently kiss me
Letting go of suffering
I had to undergo
She and I
Our past tumbling
Dominoes
Drink the blood
Eat the flesh
Her hair flows
A mansion awaits
Through the narrow gate
Holy spirit overflowing
Paying homage above
Praising the Great Shepherd
Word made flesh whispers
My wounded heart uncovered
Showering blessings
On all equally
Unconditional loving
In divine winds of freedom
All beings
Leaving the nest
Flying off as
Doves
Soaring to
Heaven
